CHRISTMAS and NEW YEAR OPENING TIMES for the LIBRARY and IT Rooms –        

Monday 17th – Thursday 20th December : Normal opening hours 8.30am – 10pm

Friday 21st December: Early closing at 6pm

Saturday 22nd December – Tuesday 1st January: CLOSED                    

Wednesday 2nd January onwards: Normal opening hours 8.30am – 10pm

Library borrowing periods will be extended.

Library and LRC Summer Opening Hours

On weekdays from Monday 9th July – Friday 7th September the Library will be OPEN AS USUAL from 8.30am – 10pm. (Please note that the Campus is closed on Bank Holiday Monday 27th August)

The Library will be staffed from 10am – 6pm on weekdays except for short periods to cover staff leave when it will be staffed from 10am – 3pm.

On Saturdays and Sundays from 14th July – 2nd September the Library will be OPEN BUT UNSTAFFED from 8.30am – 6pm

If you wish to confirm if Library staff will be available when you visit, please email us in advance on Library-Guildford@law.ac.uk

The self-issue machine is available at unstaffed periods.

 

Vacancies for paid student ambassadors

Thomson Reuters currently have two vacancies for student ambassadors to represent and promote Westlaw and Practical Law services at the University of Law, Guildford.

These roles are external posts, which could be carried out alongside your university studies. Either would be a useful way to develop your online research skills whilst earning, and would provide a valuable addition to your CV.

Library and LRC summer opening hours

The Library will be remain open as usual on weekdays from 8.30am – 10pm from Monday 17th July – Friday 8th September to help you in your studies over the summer. During this time the library will be staffed from Monday to Friday from 10am – 3pm. (Please note that the Guildford Centre is CLOSED on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August.)

If you want to confirm that Library staff will be available to help you, please email us in advance of your visit on Library-Guildford@law.ac.uk

At weekends the Library will be open as usual from 8.30am – 6pm, but from 15th – 16th July until 2nd – 3rd  September inclusive it will be unstaffed.

 

Vacancy for Guildford’s LexisNexis Student Associate 2017-18 (paid)

Do you want to really stand out from the crowd in the search for a training contract?

If the answer is ‘yes’, then an opportunity has arisen to increase your legal research skills and work for a major legal publisher. LexisNexis is looking for a second or third year or postgraduate law student to act as a representative on campus for LexisNexis Online Services.

The successful candidate will offer a small number of hours a week contact time to advise and help other students in their use of these essential research services. He or she will be very approachable and keen to learn how to use the services in depth.

Full training will be given and on-going regular support will be provided. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom. The fixed term contract will be for 9 months starting in September 2017. The pay will be £8. 45 an hour.

He or she will be very approachable and keen to learn how to use the services in depth. Full training will be given and on-going regular support will be provided. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom. The contract will be for 7 months starting on 1st November 2016.

Salary is £8 per hour/£40 a week plus expenses.
