Welcome to your Library
The Guildford library team would like to extend a warm welcome to all new LPC, GDL and LLB students and to all students returning for the second year of your course. Throughout the academic year we’ll be aiming to offer you the best possible support to assist you with your studies.
You’ll find us on the second floor of the Learning Resource Centre. The library contains collections of books, practitioner texts, newspapers, journals, law reports & legal research resources, as well as 50+ study desks, 24 PCs, a self-issue machine and a printer/photocopier. You’re welcome to bring in your laptops to use in the library.
In addition, the Library Services Portal on ELITE enables you to access a wide range of online library resources, including links to the legal databases, the online library catalogue, and several resources to help you with your legal research.
If you have any queries about the library service, or if you need help with legal research, please come along to the library to speak with a member of the Library team – Library Assistants Claire Rymell, Janice Cruse and Helen Hinder, or our new Librarian, Ruth Davey, when she joins us at the beginning of November. Alternatively you are welcome to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
For basic information about the library – how to contact us, opening times, borrowing rights etc – please click on the Opening Hours and About us pages.
We’ll be posting on this blog regularly to pass on any library-related information we think will be of use to you – changes to opening hours, details about forthcoming library legal research workshops and external database training sessions, advice on accessing and using online resources, information about new books added to stock etc. So please keep checking it – that way you won’t miss out on any important library information!
We look forward to helping you, and hope that you enjoy your studies over the coming year.
