Database on-line training sessions
This year Westlaw has replaced its WebEx certification sessions with a new on-line certification training module. There are two levels of certification:
Basic: Introduction covering effective searching, refining results and using status icons to ensure you are using ‘good’ law.
Advanced: Once you have completed Basic, you can move onto Advanced, covering Boolean search connectors, Judicial consideration of case law, legislative modifications and derivation tables, EU and other advanced topics.

The dates for the WebEx training sessions are as follows:
10th Oct – 10am – 11.30am
24th Oct – 2pm – 3.30pm
14th Nov – 10am – 11.30am
17th Nov – 2pm – 3.30pm
12th Dec – 10am – 11.30am
7th Nov – 10am – 11.30am
5th Dec – 10am – 11.30am
This format of training is conducted over the phone and online. The software which is sent to you once you have confirmed your session will enable you to view the trainer’s PC. In addition, a number will be provided for you call into, creating a live conference call. This method of training is a popular method of training as there is no need to spend time away from your desk, with the benefits of practical training through a virtual classroom.
