Westlaw Student User Guides & Database training sessions

We’ve now received the revised version of the Westlaw Student User Guide, which outlines Westlaw content & coverage and will help you to navigate the database and formulate searches. There are copies available in the library and also in IT Rooms 213-218, so please come and take one (new Lawtel and LexisLibrary user guides should be arriving shortly – watch here for further announcements.)

Also don’t forget to sign up for the Westlaw and LexisLibrary database training sessions which have been arranged for Monday 14th & Friday 18th (Westlaw) and Thursday 17th and Tuesday 22nd (LexisLibrary.)  Three sessions will run on each of these days – 10.30-11.30am, 12.15-1.15pm and 2-3pm, and they will all be held in IT Room 216.  These sessions give you the chance to learn from expert trainers, who will be able to inform you about all the latest developments, help you find your way round the databases and give you invaluable advice about constructing searches to achieve the best results, so please don’t miss out!  You can sign up online by going to ELITE > My Centre>What’s on in Guildford>News and Events page and clicking the ‘Database training’ heading – this will take you to the list of sessions on offer & you simply need to click on ‘Sign up’ to add your name to the session(s) of your choice.
