Library Do’s and Don’ts

Based on comments made in last year’s student survey, the following policies are being implemented in the library:

  • The library may be used for silent study only.
  • Mobile phones must be switched to silent or vibrate mode.
  • With the exception of bottled water, no food or drink should be consumed the library.

Although these policies may appear harsh, the vast majority of students who took part in last year’s student survey indicated that they were irritated and disturbed by fellow students talking, using mobiles and eating and drinking in the library.

If the café is closed, there are seats outside the library and in the foyer of the LRC where you can eat and drink.  If you need to study in a group contact Helen Burden, the  Timetabling Manager, who will have a list of empty classrooms which you can use.
